How do I find the right Aerial Hoop ring diameter?

Sit on a chair and measure the length from the seat to the top of your head. This measurement plus 10 centimeters results in the recommended inner diameter of your Aerial Hoop. When choosing your aerial hoops, always pay attention to the diameter (inside/outside) of the specified ring size.

What aerial hoop ring thickness should I choose?

The thicker the tube diameter, the more comfortable it is. A thicker tube diameter gives you a larger contact surface at the contact points, which is much more comfortable during training. The safer grip speaks in favor of aerial hoops with a smaller tube diameter.

Do I have to tape the aerial hoop?

The powder coating of our aerial hoops already provides a good grip. Additional taping is not absolutely necessary. However, if you generally have problems with the grip or often suffer from sweaty hands, then the additional taping of our hoops can be quite helpful.

Our tip: The Aerial Hoop from PoleSports offers a really good grip even without tape.

What do I need to hang up an Aerial Hoop?

You can attach your Aerial Hoop in different ways. Standard suspension equipment includes round slings, carabiners, ball bearing swivels and special ceiling hangers where no fixed anchor point or beam is available. You can find more information about the different possibilities in our Aerial Suspension Guide.

Where is the best place to hang up the Aerial Hoop?

You can hang up your Aerial Hoop both indoors and outdoors. But make sure that your hoop does not get wet (rain, high humidity, dew, etc.), otherwise it can rust. It is important that your attachment points (e.g. beams, branches, ceilings, etc.) are sufficiently stable. Around the Aerial Hoop you need about 2 m of space in each direction. You should choose the height at the beginning so that the middle of the aerial hoop is approximately at your chest height.

What is the difference between 1 point and 2 point suspension?

1-point mounts tend to move more because they are free to swing in any direction. This gives you a higher degree of freedom than with 2-point suspensions. In addition, these hoops are better suited for limited ceiling heights, since less space and accessories are required for suspension.

2-point hoops have limited freedom of movement at the side. This allows for figures performed on the top of the hoop or where sideways tipping of the hoop is undesirable.

Why a new aerial hoop from PoleSports?

We have listened to you and used your criticism and wishes for the development of our new hoops. Lack of grip is your biggest concern, we've heard that. The PoleSports Aerial Hoop is finished with a glossy, very grippy and durable powder coating, which makes it easier to remove tape adhesive residue.

Our hoops are available in two tube diameters: 26.9 mm and 30 mm. The thinner hoop can be handled much more safely, especially for smaller hands. The 30 mm hoop is more comfortable at the contact points due to the larger contact area, which especially appeals to beginners.

The PoleSports Hoop:

  • Available in two tube diameters: 26.9 mm and 30 mm
  • Available in diameters 850, 900, 950, 1000, 1050 mm
  • The specified diameters refer to the outside diameter
  • Dimensions and weight comply with the requirements of the ISPF
  • Made of sturdy tubular steel with a permissible working load of 300 kg
  • Resilience extensively tested
  • Very handy powder coating, residue from tapes can be easily removed
  • High quality made in Europe - No comparison to cheap imports

How do you find the appropriate ring diameter for your aerial hoop?

Sit on a chair, measure the length from the seat to the top of your head and add 10 centimeters to it. From this measure results now the recommended ring diameter. Please note that this diameter refers to the outer diameter of the Aerial Hoop. The inner diameter is about 5 cm less than the outer diameter. This may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
